Meet the Mentors

   
Professor W. Michael Hanemann

Prof Kevin Boyle is Head of the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Virginia Tech. His research investigates the validity of non-market valuation methods, including stated preferences, revealed preferences, and benefits transfers. Applications include the interface of environmental quality and human health, health of aquatic ecosystems, and land-use policy.

   

Prof Jim Wilen is Director of the Centre for Natural Resource Policy Analysis at UC Davis. His research focuses on the impact of policy options on economic and ecological health of fisheries. Some recent research addresses micro behaviour under open access exploitation, property rights solutions to fisheries management, analysis of marine reserves, fisheries bycatch problems, and spatial models of resource use.

   
Professor John Rolfe

Prof Caroline Saunders is Director of the Agribusiness and Economics Research Unit (AERU) at Lincoln University. Her current research includes evaluating trade and the environment including assessment of international markets policies and their impact on development and developing and using the Lincoln Trade and Environment Model.

   
Professor Allan Curtis

Prof David Pannell is Director of the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy, UWA and a Federation Fellow of the ARC. His research includes the economics of land and water conservation; environmental policy; farmer adoption of land conservation practices; risk management; policy evaluation; and economics of farming systems.

   
Dr Don Gunasekera

Prof John Rolfe is a resource economist. He has been Co-interim Director of the Institute for Sustainable Regional Development. John has a background in agriculture and, with his wife, owns and operates a cattle property in the Central Highlands Region.

   
Deborah Peterson

Prof Kevin Parton is a Strategic Professor in the Institute for Land, Water and Society at CSU. His research interests include risk management, decision analysis, research management, economic evaluation, climate and the economic value of forecasting, strategic management and leadership.
